Description

Tiagabine hydrochloride(NO328 hydrochloride) is a selective gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) reuptake inhibitor.Target: GABA reuptake inhibitorTiagabine had an early onset of effect, as shown by significant reduction from baseline in mean HAM-A total score compared with placebo at week 1 (observed cases, p < .05). Tiagabine was generally well tolerated and not associated with changes in sexual functioning or depressive status. Symptoms of a discontinuation syndrome during taper were not ob

Tiagabine hydrochloride is a hydrochloride resulting from the reaction of equimolar amounts of tiagabine and hydrogen chloride. A GABA reuptake inhibitor, it is used for the treatment of epilepsy. It has a role as an anticonvulsant and a GABA reuptake inhibitor. It contains a tiagabine(1+).|Tiagabine Hydrochloride is the hydrochloride salt form of tiagabine, a nipecotic acid derivative with anticonvulsant property. Tiagabine hydrochloride inhibits the gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) transporter type 1 (GAT1), which is predominantly localized in presynaptic terminals of neurons thereby preventing the reuptake of GABA by the presynaptic endings. Consequently, this increases the level of available GABA within the synaptic cleft, thereby resulting in prolongation of its inhibitory actions. Tiagabine is effective against maximum electroshock seizures and both limbic and generalized tonic-clonic seizures.|A nipecotic acid derivative that acts as a GABA uptake inhibitor and anticonvulsant agent. It is used in the treatment of EPILEPSY, for refractory PARTIAL SEIZURES.
