South Korea imported 16 per cent less fresh salmon in the first 10 months of this year than a year earlier

South Korea imported 20,585 tons of fresh salmon as of the end of October 2022, down 16% from 24,540 tons for the same period in 2021. The total import value was US $262.1 million, up 7% year on year, with an average import price of US $12.74 per kg. That's up 21% from $9.99 a year earlier.

 
South Korea's salmon imports mainly come from:
 
· Norway: 19,941 tons;
 
· Australia: 350 tons;
 
· UK: 79 tons;
 
· New Zealand: 14 tons;
 
· Chile: 190 tons;
 
· Canada: 10 tons;
 
· Faroe Islands: 1 ton.
