Highly pathogenic avian influenza variant of H5N1 has been identified in Chile
Chile's Agriculture and Livestock Service (SAG) reported on the afternoon of December 8 that a white pelican carrying a variant of H5N1 highly pathogenic avian influenza was found in Iquique and Antofagasta.
