After the completion of the second phase of the expansion of the Shanghai Verbund Base of BYK, the production capacity of additives reached 20,000 tons/year

On January 19, 2023, BYK completed the second phase of expansion of its integrated production base in Shanghai, which is BYK's second production base in China after the Tongling production base. The investment in the second phase of the production project (SCIP II) covers an area of approximately 1.16 hectares and is designed with a standard annual production capacity of 4,750 tons. The entire second phase of the project was officially completed on March 18, 2022, and the first can of BYKETOL-OK surface additives was successfully canned from the brand new production line on July 8, 2022, which is suitable for the automotive and industrial coatings industries.

According to reports, with the official launch of the second phase of the production project, BYK's production capacity in China has been greatly expanded, including a rich and complete product range of defoamers/deaerators, surface additives, etc., and will enter the "mass production era" at the Shanghai base. These additives are widely used in automotive coatings, industrial coatings, furniture coatings, architectural coatings, printing inks, adhesives, thermoplastics, thermosetting plastics and other applications, covering solvent-based, solvent-free, low polarity, high polarity and other types of systems.
