Operating rate of spandex industry declines to around 95%. Few plants will start curtailing production from late-Apr on cost pressure. Eyes are suggested to the operating rate of spandex units in East China. Production in new spandex plants is mounting.
Operating rate of warp knitting plants is stabilized at around 70%. Production of polyester/spandex products is stable, and that of nylon/spandex goods should pay attention to the nylon price trend.
Price of spandex for warp knitting is in consolidation in Guangdong. 40D for warp knitting is mainly pegged at 35,000-36,500yuan/mt, higher at 37,000-39,000yuan/mt for high-end ones. Spandex for plain fabric is pegged at 40,000-43,000yuan/mt in some plants.
