EU assesses the safety of Schizochytrium oil as a new food
On October 19, according to the European Food Safety Agency (EFSA), the EU Nutrition, New Food and Food Allergens (NDA) research team issued scientific opinions on the safety of Schizochytrium sp. oil as a new food.
After evaluation, the expert team concluded that Schizochytrium oil is safe as a new food under the proposed conditions of use.
