ADM plans to build a new probiotics plant to increase production capacity

ECHEMI 2020-10-27

Recently, ADM announced plans to build a new probiotic factory in Valencia, Spain, to meet the growing market demand for probiotic solutions.

ADM said that with the new technology of Spanish microbial technology provider ADM Biopolis, the capacity of the new plant will increase by 5 times. Biopolis was acquired by ADM in 2017, and its business involves cell and molecular biology, microbiology, nutrition and metabolomics, biological processes and genomics.

The new plant will produce probiotics and epibiotics, and will also include an ADM food flavor production facility. The plant is expected to go online in 2022.
