Intercos Plans Acquisition of US Companies to Expand Beyond Cosmetics

ECHEMI 2025-09-26

Intercos SpA, a supplier to Estée Lauder and Dolce & Gabbana, is pursuing acquisitions in the US skin and hair care sectors, targeting acquisitions worth $100 million to $200 million.

CEO Renato Semerari said the group has identified candidates but does not expect any agreements before the end of the year. Intercos owns two cosmetics factories in the US but lacks production capacity for skin and hair care, areas the company considers crucial for winning major contracts. The Brianza-based manufacturer reported sales of €525 million in the first half of 2025, a 5% increase, and a 17% increase in earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) to €75 million. Full-year EBITDA is projected to be €154.9 million.

The proposed acquisition will fill a gap in Intercos' U.S. market presence, drive growth in high-demand categories, and strengthen its position in the world's largest beauty market.
