Evonik will expand the capacity of its Shanghai base

soutuliao 2023-04-21

On April 18, Evonik, the world's leading specialty chemicals company, announced that it is working to double its global production capacity for VESTAMID®E polyether block amide (PEBA). To this end, Evonik will expand its multi-user base (MUSC) facility in Shanghai and continue to optimize its production base in Marr, Germany.

The Shanghai expansion project will officially start in the fall of 2023, and the expanded facility will help increase Evonik PEBA's production capacity to meet the global demand for the material in the athletic shoe market.

In addition to the Shanghai expansion project, Evonik is also carrying out several capacity optimization projects at Evonik's other major PEBA facility, the PEBA facility in Marl, Germany, in order to eliminate production bottlenecks and increase PEBA's total global capacity.
