Don't think just because you're 100% juice, you can show off
For vitamin C, drink some juice! If you want to whiten, drink some juice! To get some fiber, drink some juice. Fruit and vegetable juices have long been considered healthy drinks compared to fizzy drinks, tea drinks, protein drinks and other high sugar drinks. However, if you don't choose them, you will fall into the 100% juice trap.
100% juice ≠ pure juice
If you think that just because a product says "100% juice" on its packaging, it's not. According to the General Rules on Beverages implemented by the Standardization Administration in 2016, juice extracted directly from fruit or juice concentrated and restored to its original concentration with water can be called "100 percent juice," which is called restored juice.
Based on the way the juice is processed, the drinks labeled "100% juice" on the market can be divided into FC juice, NFC juice and HPP juice.
FC juice is concentrated and reduced juice. After squeezing fruit into juice, it is heated to evaporate water and sterilized to produce a concentrated juice that is easy to preserve. When it is needed, it can be reduced into juice by adding water, which has a long shelf life. Due to the complex processing of concentration and reduction, its freshness and taste can not be compared with NFC products.
NFC juice is non-concentrated VAT juice. The juice extracted from fresh fruit is sterilized immediately and then filled directly. Compared with FC juice, there are fewer steps of concentration and reduction, which can retain the original fresh flavor and nutrition of fruit to a greater extent. The filling of NFC juice can be divided into cold filling and hot filling. Cold filling is more conducive to preserving the nutritional composition and taste of the original juice, while hot filling is more conducive to preserving the timeliness of juice. NFC juice also has more stringent storage and expiration requirements than FC juice.
HPP juice is ultra-high pressure cold sterilization juice, the juice of the first section is similar to NFC juice, the difference is that after canning, the use of ultra-high pressure sterilization technology to kill the bacteria in the juice, prolong the shelf life while not destroying the nutrients in the juice, so that the taste is fresh as before, and most of the vitamins and minerals can be preserved in good condition. HPP technology can extend the shelf life of juice to 45 days or more, convenient storage and transportation and circulation.
How do you know which type of juice you choose?
1
Look at the label on the bottle
In general, NFC juice and HPP juice will have a noticeable "NFC" "HPP" label on the product, while FC juice will almost never have "FC" label.
2
Look at the ingredients list on the product label
In general, the ingredients list of HPP juice is freshly squeezed, NFC juice is freshly squeezed or original plus pulp, and FC juice is water, juice concentrate (pulp), or juice concentrate (pulp).
Juice drink spot check situation
In recent three years, the fruit and vegetable juice drinks inspected by Shanghai Market Supervision Administration mainly include fruit and vegetable juice (pulp), concentrated fruit and vegetable juice (pulp) and fruit and vegetable juice (pulp) drinks. The test items covered heavy metals (lead), mycotoxins (penicillin), food additives (preservatives, sweeteners, synthetic colorants), microorganisms, etc. The sampling test results were all qualified.
Even the best juice needs to be drunk in moderation
First of all, fruit is rich in vitamins and dietary fiber, fruit is pressed into juice process, vitamin and air contact is oxidized, dietary fiber is also destroyed;
Secondly, fruit has a high fructose content, and its metabolism in the body is not controlled by insulin, so human intake of fructose will not cause serious post-meal blood sugar peak and hypoglycemia. In addition, fruit is rich in vitamins and dietary fiber, appropriate intake is beneficial, if excessive intake will cause obesity, fatty liver and other health problems.
Finally, fruit is endogenous sugar, juice will become free sugar, easy to be absorbed by the human body, excessive consumption will also bring health risks.
In particular, pure fruit juice can not completely replace the human body's daily intake of fruits and vegetables, especially for children and teenagers in the growth stage, can not drink it as water.
