Japan's Chinese ADC12 aluminum alloy import trades thin on weak yen
Ukraine's exports of ferronickel (FeNi) decreased by 19.5% year-on-year to 55,410 mt in January-August, compared with 68,850 mt exported a year ago, the state statistics service reported Monday.
Revenues from exports of FeNi dropped by 34.3% to $117.1 million from $178.1 million in January-August 2015, the statistics service said.
Over January through August Ukraine exported 24,610 mt of ferronickel to Italy, up from 16,550 mt a year ago, and supplies to Finland increased to 9,140 mt from 600 mt exported in January-August 2015.
At the same time, exports to the Netherlands dropped to 17,230 mt from 30,970 mt, supplies to the UK dropped to 1,550 mt from 4,630 mt and deliveries to China plunged to 2,610 from 9,740 mt.
In August alone, Ukraine exported 8,810 mt of FeNi, up from 7,200 mt exported in August 2015 and up from 5,300 mt in July.
Ukraine's exports of ferrotitanium (FeTi) in January-August rose to 1,740 mt worth $5.6 million, compared with 1,440 mt worth $5.3 million exported a year ago, the committee said.
Ukraine ships ferrotitanium mostly to the Netherlands and Germany.
In 2015, Ukraine exported 97,040 mt of FeNi, down 6.2% year-on-year. Exports of FeTi decreased 11.2% year-on-year to 2,450 mt.
Ukraine's only ferronickel smelter, Pobuzhskiy Ferronickel Plant, is capable of producing about 100,000 mt/year of FeNi. The company exports most of the output.
