Syngenta Seedcare announces the launch of EQUENTO®

Syngenta Seedcare today announced the launch of a new seed treatment agent, EQUENTO® (100.0 g/L Isocycloseram FS), which effectively controls a variety of soil pests and helps farmers improve the sustainability of their agricultural management.

Soil pests pose a major challenge to farmers, harming crops and spreading diseases, seriously threatening crop yields and quality. The evolution of pests and the effects of climate change have increased the pressure on farmers, with an estimated 600 insect species already thought to be resistant to at least one pesticide.

EQUENTO® is based on Syngenta's advanced PLINAZOLIN® technology to protect seeds from the very beginning of germination. The product features a new mode of action (IRAC Group 30) that breaks insect resistance while providing precise control against difficult-to-control pests such as nematodes and red-legged ground mites. It can be applied to a variety of crops, including cereals and oil crops.

One of the benefits of EQUENTO® is its ability to improve the sustainability of farm operations, to be safe for seeds and crops, to be very effective at very low doses and not easily dissolve or drift in the soil, to provide precise and effective pest control in the crop root area and to ensure a healthier root system, thereby contributing to improved soil health and biodiversity.

EQUENTO® also gives farmers more flexibility in their agricultural decisions, from application timing and dosage to mixing with other insecticides and fungicides to effectively control and reduce pest populations in the soil, even when soil temperatures are low. In addition, EQUENTO® has excellent target specificity that helps farmers adjust doses to meet specific pest challenges.
