Bayer launches Velum® Rise and Emesto® Complete in Canada
Bayer today announced that its potato seed treatment agent Emesto® Complete and its bactericidal/nematricidal agent Velum® Rise have been introduced in Canada.
Emesto Complete is a combination product (Group4 Clothianidin +Group3 Prothioconazole +Group7 Penflufen) that provides broad spectrum control over a wide range of major pests and diseases. After adding the improved formulation of Clothianidin, the new product can effectively control aphids, Colorado potato beetles, potato hoppers and potato leafhopper. It is also effective against some of the most serious potato diseases, such as fusarium tuber rot and species-borne rhizobiosis
Velum® Rise is a broad spectrum bactericidal/nematocidal agent, combined with Group7 active ingredients Fluopyram and Penflufen, that provides superior crop disease and nematode control for potato trench application. Velum Rise builds on Velum Prime while extending disease control to maximize potato quality and yield potential. The product is excellent for the control of soil-borne Rhizoctonia, stem rot and naevosis caused by Rhizoctonia solani, as well as for the control of early blight, black spot and plant pathogenic nematodes.
Bayer said that Emesto Complete is easy to pack, easy to apply, less water, small dosage and high efficiency; Velum Rise is highly effective against diseases affecting potato yields and is compatible with other ditch application products such as Minuet® biocides and Emesto Silver or Emesto Complete seed block treatments.
Emesto Complete will be available for the 2024 planting season, and each box can handle 425 hundredweight (about 21,600 kg) of seed; Velum Rise will be available for the 2024 planting season in a package of 8.1 L/ can, and at 404 mL/ acre, one can can treat 20 acres of land.
