Japan Enhances Monitoring and Inspection of Acetamiprid in Chinese Perilla
The Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare took significant steps on October 16, 2023, by issuing Healthy Food Distribution 1016 Notice No. 1. This notice enforces heightened monitoring and inspection of acetamiprid levels in perilla and simple processed products originating from China. The inspection frequency has been set at 30%. Furthermore, it mandates the screening of agricultural products. Manufacturers, exporters, and packaging companies dealing with products exported that exceed the prescribed standards are now obligated to conduct thorough independent inspections for each batch. Additional requirements have been appended to Schedules 2 and 3 of the enhanced monitoring notice.
Notably, LIANYUNGANG BAIXU AGRICULTURAL CO., LTD. is among the identified entities failing to meet the required standards.
