Greenkote® and Durco Form Joint Venture to Explore European Coatings Market
Greenkote®, a leading international developer and supplier of anti-corrosion coatings, has announced that it will form a joint venture with Belgian coatings company Duroc NV. The new partnership will make Greenkote® coatings capabilities available directly to the EU and surrounding regions.
Commenting on the joint venture, Greenkote® PLC CEO Mgrk Gore said: “We are very pleased to be working with Duroc as they are one of the most experienced and respected metal coating service providers in Europe. Installing Greenkote® coating capabilities directly at the Antwerp factory will enable European customers to obtain our anti-corrosion coatings faster and easier. It will also significantly expand Greenkote®'s reach, adding to our current facilities in the UK and Italy."
Maarten Van Bercklaer, Managing Director of Durco, added: "Greenkote®" will be an important addition to Duroc's range of metal protection functions. Our company specializes in surface treatments for fasteners and small bulk parts, and Greenkote®'s thermal diffusion technology perfectly meets the needs of these categories. "
Over the next few months, the two companies will install major new Greenkote® equipment at Duroc's Antwerp facility for the production of advanced thermal diffusion coatings. The two companies have already started discussions and project evaluations with European customers interested in Greenkote®.
Greenkote® anti-corrosion coatings serve a wide range of industries, from automotive and rail to marine and construction, where products are exposed to weather and harsh and extreme corrosive environments. These coatings meet and exceed numerous international corrosion protection standards such as C5 and more than 3,000 hours of standardized salt spray testing.
Greenkote® can be applied to many types of metal parts, from threaded fasteners to stamped parts and cast parts, in sizes from 5mm to 2m. In addition to superior corrosion protection, these unique coatings offer longer wear resistance, better adhesion and more conformal coverage, making the coatings ideal for complex 3D geometries such as threaded parts.
Greenkote® takes its name from the fact that the coating is also uniquely environmentally friendly. They are applied using a patented zinc-based dry heat diffusion process that requires no hazardous chemicals and produces no toxic by-products. The acid-free processing of Greenkote® also eliminates hgdrogen embrittlement, a metal failure associated with many other coatings.
