Cambodia’s Agricultural Exports Hit $2.42 Billion in 7 Months Cashew Surges 59 Percent While Rice and Pepper Slip
In the first seven months of this year, Cambodia’s main agricultural exports totaled $2.42 billion, up 7.5% from $2.26 billion a year earlier, according to the Ministry of Commerce. Key growth highlights include cashew nut exports, which soared from $490 million to $770 million, a staggering 59% jump. Corn exports reached $16.66 million, up 52.6%, while bananas and rice brought in $100 million and $310 million, rising 24.6% and 11.6% respectively. Longan and mango exports also grew, with longan up 10.2% and mango edging up 0.3%.
However, not all products saw gains. Paddy rice exports dropped 16.8% to $610 million, pepper fell 14% to $23.48 million, and cassava declined 9.8% to $470 million.
China, ASEAN, and the European Union remain Cambodia’s top markets for agricultural produce, as the country continues to diversify its export portfolio and strengthen ties with major trading partners.
