Etoxazole should not be used in cucumbers at present
In recent years, excessive Etoxazole residue in cucumber was found in many places.
For example, the residual value of Etoxazole in cucumbers sold in a department store in Guodu Town, Xintai City, sampled by Market Supervision and Administration Bureau of Tai 'an City, Shandong Province, was 0.038 mg/kg; The residual value of Etoxazole in cucumbers sold in Shengli Road, Tianshan District, Urumqi, sampled by Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Market Supervision Administration, was 0.047 mg/kg, which exceeded the national maximum residue limit standard of 0.02 mg/kg, and was judged as unqualified food.
Etoxazole is a new type of oxazole acaricide, which was temporarily registered in China for the first time in 2009 and officially registered in 2012. As of February 25, 2024, a total of 11 crops (categories) of Etoxazole had been registered in China, including cotton, strawberry, watermelon, apple tree, peach tree, citrus tree, wolfberry, coffee tree, pepper tree, ornamental flowers of the rose family (including ornamental rose), and edible rose, but had not been registered in cucumber and other vegetable crops.
According to relevant laws and regulations, at present, the use of Etoxazole or its compound on cucumber and other vegetable crops in China, regardless of whether the residue exceeds the standard, is illegal (except for registration tests or scientific research).
