Godrej Agrovet(Indian) has partnered with Nissan Chemical to develop Hanabi, a new acaricide
Godrej Agrovet Limited, a leading Indian agribusiness, has launched a new acaricide Hanabi (Pyridaben 20% w/ w WP) designed to protect the apple farming industry in Kashmir from the threat of harmful mites.
Hanabi, developed by Godrej Agrovet in collaboration with Japanese chemical company Nissan, is a 20% WP. The product has a patented chemical composition, which not only lasts longer control time, but also has faster anti-mite activity, which is expected to lead to better yields for farmers.
It is worth noting that Kashmir's apple growing industry is huge, with annual exports of up to 1.8 million tons, accounting for 75% of India's total production, and is an important local economic lifeline. However, biological pests have been a major threat to this thriving industry.
Hanabi acaricide is a fast acting formula that starts working immediately after spraying, reaching an 80% acaricide rate within 3-4 hours, making it an efficient and reliable solution for mite control. In addition, it also has a certain effect on other pests such as thrips and whiteflies.
For optimal control, Hanabi is recommended in the early stages of infestation. When the number of harmful mites on each leaf reaches 3-5, an aqueous solution with a concentration of 0.5 g/l should be sprayed for the first time.
