Arkema's acrylic monomer plant in Clear Lake, Texas receives Mass Balance ISCC Plus certification
Arkema, a leader in specialty materials, announces another important milestone in the decarbonization of its global acrylic production chain: the acrylic monomer production plant in Clear Lake, Texas, USA, has obtained ISCC PLUS certification, following the same certification in Taixing, China in January 2024, and Carling, France in October 2022.
"We are committed to advancing bio-attribute initiatives in all steps of Arkema's integration and around the world, using a mass balance approach," said Casey COLLINS, President of the Americas, Arkema Acrylic Monomers Regional Group. "This is another important milestone in the industry-wide decarbonization and circularity efforts, which will help our customers and end users reduce greenhouse gas emissions for coatings and adhesives, which are used in key markets such as new mobility, building efficiency and living comfort; and in applications such as engineered polymers, leather, textiles, hygiene and water treatment."
These certifications support the gradual introduction of a full range of bio-attributed specialty resins and additives to enable low-VOC and less carbon-intensive technologies, including high solids, waterborne, UV/LED and polyester powders.
