Birla Carbon’s Brazil, Hungary and Egypt plants receive ISCC+ certification

ECHEMI 2024-06-11

Birla Carbon has announced that four more of its plants, Cubatão and Camaçari in Brazil, Tiszaújváros in Hungary and Alexandria in Egypt, have received ISCC PLUS certification. Birla Carbon is a manufacturer and supplier of high-quality carbon-based solutions.

Earlier this year, Birla Carbon achieved a significant milestone by receiving ISCC PLUS certification for its plants in the US, South Korea, India and Italy. The certification process for the remaining plants is currently ongoing. Certification is expected to be completed during the remainder of 2024. These internationally recognized certifications are a testament to Birla Carbon’s commitment to achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050.

Commenting on the recognition, John Loudermilk, President and CEO of Birla Carbon said, "We are pleased to announce that our plants in Brazil, Hungary and Egypt have received ISCC PLUS certification, marking a significant milestone in our sustainability journey. This achievement underscores our commitment to environmental stewardship and circularity through the provision of advanced products."

"As we continue to achieve certifications around the world, we are reinforcing our commitment to sustainable and traceable practices, setting industry benchmarks and moving towards a more sustainable future. This achievement reflects the collective efforts of our global team and brings us closer to our vision: Carbon Solutions Leading the Way to a Brighter, Greener Future."

For Birla Carbon’s stakeholders, ISCC PLUS certification is a trusted indicator of a company that provides sustainable and circular raw materials.
