BAL(India) will launch a new insecticide containing Chlorantraniliprole in July
Indian agrochemical company Best Agrolife Ltd (BAL) has announced the imminent launch of a new patented pesticide product, Nemagen, to combat the growing problem of lepidoptera pests. The company has obtained local manufacturing registration from Nemagen and plans to officially list in July.
It is understood that in recent years, the host range of lepidoptera pests has been expanding, and resistance to existing pesticides has developed. This results in crop damage rates as high as 30-50%, resulting in huge economic losses for farmers. In the face of this challenge, the development of advanced pesticide solutions is particularly urgent.
Nemagen is a highly effective, broad-spectrum insecticide that is unique in that it uses an innovative combination of active molecules, including Chlorantraniliprole, Novaluron and Emamectin Benzoate, to effectively control a variety of pests, especially against lepidoptera pests such as twig and fruit borer, but also against Coleoptera and diptera pests.
Nemagen's versatility allows it to be used at all stages of crop growth, covering a wide range of crops such as vegetables, field crops, fruit crops and beans. This feature is expected to meet the urgent needs of the agricultural market and provide farmers with more effective pest control options.
According to market analysis, the market size of this segment is about 63 billion Indian rupees (about $753 million). BAL said they are confident of capturing a market share of 5 billion Indian rupees (about $60 million) within the first two years of the product launch.
