Arkema's powder coating resin plant in Spain receives ISCC+ certification
Arkema's powder coating resin plant in Sant Celoni, Spain, is ISCC+ certified. This is part of a larger initiative aimed at decarbonizing the global coatings value chain. This expands Arkema's range of mass-balanced solutions with up to 40% bio-attributed powder polyester resins. This reduces the carbon footprint of the products by up to 25%.
The plant houses a polyester resin production line and a state-of-the-art R&D laboratory dedicated to improving the sustainability and performance of powder coating materials. Arkema sees the powder coatings market as a strategic growth area, as these applications are inherently sustainable (solvent-free, virtually zero waste, low energy consumption).
With this certification, Arkema can offer a complete portfolio of biomass-balanced coating solutions. It includes waterborne, UV/EB, advanced liquid resins and powder resins. They are used in many different industries. This includes new mobility, decarbonized industrial environments, green buildings and more sustainable homes, including furniture, appliances applications.

"Arkema is committed to providing our customers around the world with the materials they need to further reduce the carbon content of their products and ensure they can achieve their sustainability goals."
The plant also produces polyester advanced liquid resins. These products enable up to 25% bio-based content and up to 20% PCF reduction. It supports the decarbonization of key industrial applications such as coil and packaging coatings.
