Polyrheo USA Acquires Huntsman Plant
Polyrheo USA announces the acquisition of Huntsman’s Maple Shade, New Jersey chemical manufacturing facility.
The plant was previously owned by CVC Thermoset and Emerald Performance Materials before being acquired by Huntsman in February 2020. Polyrheo has begun the process of reactivating the manufacturing plant. The startup will be timed to align with license renewals, etc.
Tony Thomas, President of Polyrheo USA, said: “The Maple Shade plant represents the next logical step in our strategic goal of becoming a significant U.S. chemical manufacturer with a focus on chemicals used in the CASE market, particularly resins. Maple Shade is our third chemical manufacturing plant in the U.S. The other two are located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Newell Polymers (formerly Deltech resin plant) in West Virginia. In addition, we have manufacturing facilities in Canada and India. The combination of these assets positions Polyrheo for a strong leadership position in CASE and resin chemistry.”
