Syensqo partners with the Jean-Marie Lehn Foundation

ECHEMI 2024-10-23

To promote innovation and sustainability in the materials industry, Syensqo has entered into a partnership with the Jean-Marie Lehn Foundation.

This strategic collaboration will allow Syensqo, members of the Foundation, and chemists from the University of Strasbourg and the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) to collaborate on three research projects focused on the design of sustainable and ecological materials and the synthesis of renewable and multifunctional building blocks.

These joint research projects aim to develop cutting-edge solutions to current environmental challenges, such as non-fossil raw materials and CO2, while delivering exceptional performance.

“I am delighted to see the Syensqo team working with the University of Strasbourg’s talent pool of more than 1,000 researchers from 50 countries and 4 Nobel Prize winners,” said Ilham Kadri, CEO of Syensqo.

“Collaborating with Syensqo in these research projects allows us to push the boundaries of materials science and develop innovative solutions for a more sustainable future,” added Bernard Meunier, President of the Jean-Marie Lehn Foundation.

The Jean-Marie Lehn Foundation was established in 2007 by the French government to support the development of the Strasbourg Center of Excellence in Chemistry. The Foundation’s mission is to strengthen and promote this cluster, which brings together researchers from the University of Strasbourg and the French National Center for Scientific Research, while expanding interactions with industry to address major societal challenges.

Previous collaborations between Solvay and the University of Strasbourg have supported seven research projects.
