Interparfums to launch Off-White fragrances and cosmetics
The French subsidiary of Interparfums has acquired the brand name and registered trademarks for the fragrances and cosmetics of luxury streetwear brand Off-White.
Interparfums SA, a 72%-owned subsidiary of New York-based Interparfums Inc, said it will work with Off-White on a long-term partnership. This will cover strategy, product category launches and market initiatives.
Interparfums chairman and CEO Jean Madar said: "Off-White merges the worlds of streetwear and luxury with flair and innovation. This is a great opportunity for us given the brand's unique positioning, not to mention Virgil Abloh's impressive creative legacy. This brand will help us explore new opportunities in fragrance in the luxury space."
The transaction is subject to an existing license, which expires on December 31, 2025.
Off-White was founded in 2012 by the late American designer and entrepreneur Abloh as Pyrex Vision. It is known for its deconstructed aesthetic and recurring brand symbols, such as crossed arrows and the "x" logo. The brand's current beauty product range includes fragrances, nail polish, face and body crayons, stickers and stencils.
Earlier this year, French luxury giant LVMH sold Off-White LLC, owner of the Off-White brand, to New York-based brand management company Bluestar Alliance.
Interparfums' acquisition of Off-White Beauty follows news that it will launch its own brand fragrance line next year. Called Solférino, the brand will include ten niche fragrances.
