Cangzhou Bohai New Area Invests 175 Million Yuan to Build 50,000 Tons Polyurea Project
It has been learned that Cangzhou Bohai New Area High Cohesion Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. plans to invest 175 million yuan to initiate a new project for an annual output of 50,000 tons of polyurea (i.e., high-end polyurethane and its auxiliary materials). This project will be located in the Eastern District of the Cangzhou Bohai New Area Economic and Technological Development Zone, covering an area of 33,334.02 square meters. The project is planned to be implemented in two phases, with the first phase planning to invest 55 million yuan, expected to produce 25,000 tons of polyurea products annually; the second phase plans to invest 120 million yuan, also expected to produce 25,000 tons of polyurea products annually.
Polyurea is a high-molecular polymer that contains urea linkages (-NHCONH-) formed by the reaction of isocyanate groups (-NCO) with amines (-NH2) in its molecular backbone. Polyurethane, on the other hand, is a polymer that contains carbamate linkages (-HNCOO-) formed by the reaction of isocyanate groups with hydroxyl groups (-OH). Polyurea is generally considered a special form of polyurethane, as both require the preparation of prepolymers or semi-prepolymers containing isocyanate end groups. Polyurethane materials are widely used in the field of engineering construction waterproofing due to their excellent elasticity, weather resistance, and durability, particularly suitable for long-lasting projects.
The technology for polyurethane (urea) waterproof coatings has evolved through stages from polyurethane, polyurethane (urea) to (pure) polyurea, forming a mature technical system that has both commonalities and distinct features. With the increasing awareness of environmental protection and the strengthening of environmental regulations, polyurethane (urea) waterproof coatings, known for their high solid content, quick curing, and high film-forming rate, are gradually gaining favor in the market, showing broad market prospects.
The first phase of the project plans to produce 25,000 tons of polyurea (high-end polyurethane and auxiliary materials) annually, specifically including:
- A component of two-component spray polyurea waterproof coating: 2,525 tons/year
- B component: 2,475 tons/year
- Single-component hand-applied polyurea waterproof coating: 5,000 tons/year
- Polyurethane waterproof coating: 5,000 tons/year
- A component of epoxy resin waterproof coating: 3,334 tons/year
- B component: 1,666 tons/year
- High solid content polyurethane anti-corrosion primer: 500 tons/year
- A component of epoxy resin putty: 667 tons/year
- B component: 333 tons/year
- High solid content single-component polyurea waterproof topcoat: 3,000 tons/year
- A component of high solid content aspartate protective topcoat: 250 tons/year
- B component: 250 tons/year
The first phase of the project is expected to have a total construction period of 18 months, with completion and production anticipated in June 2026. Upon completion, it is expected that the annual sales revenue will reach 43.525 million yuan, with an average annual total profit of 3.8399 million yuan, an average annual income tax of 959,980 yuan, and an average annual after-tax profit of 2.8799 million yuan.
