PPG Achieves ISO-Verified Tools for Product Carbon Footprint and Sustainability
PPG announced that its tools for measuring Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) and conducting Lifecycle Assessments (LCA) from raw material extraction to product delivery have been independently verified by WAP Sustainability Consulting. The tools comply with internationally recognized ISO standards. Additionally, PPG’s Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) process is now certified by the International EPD System, the world’s largest EPD publisher.
PCF quantifies greenhouse gas emissions across a product’s lifecycle, while LCA evaluates environmental impacts at each stage. The EPD discloses these impacts from raw material extraction to disposal.
Shen Tian, PPG’s Global Manager for Product Sustainability, emphasized, “Third-party-validated PCF, LCA, and EPD processes enable our customers to use reliable sustainability data for reporting, procurement decisions, or green building certifications. These tools are critical to solidifying PPG as the preferred partner for coatings and specialty products.”
The certifications will significantly reduce the delivery time of PCF, LCA, and EPD results, offering global accessibility to PPG teams for improved customer service.
