Kangda New Material Accelerates Global Expansion with 275 Million Yuan IC Acquisition and 50-Fold Capital Boost in Thailand
Kangda New Material has announced a bold move to acquire a 51% stake in Chengdu Zhongke Huawei Electronics for 275 million yuan, making the high-tech IC firm its controlling subsidiary. This strategic acquisition marks Kangda’s official entry into the specialized integrated circuit design and testing market, adding premium semiconductor assets to its portfolio and expanding its presence in advanced electronics.
Just days earlier, Kangda revealed a joint capital injection of 100 million Thai baht (about 20 million yuan) into its key Southeast Asian subsidiary, Kangda New Material (Thailand), with the company’s Hong Kong arm providing the majority of funds. The Thai base, launched in April 2024, is set to become a major adhesives manufacturing hub for the ASEAN region and beyond, leveraging Thailand’s prime location, low logistics costs, and strong chemical industry infrastructure.
The capital increase will multiply the subsidiary’s registered capital by nearly 50 times, signaling a rapid scale-up from initial investment to full-scale production. Kangda’s international strategy aims to bypass tariffs, get closer to customers, and enhance cost efficiency, while benefiting from Thailand’s business-friendly policies and robust supply chains.
With recent growth in electronic-grade resins and semiconductor packaging materials at home, Kangda is building a “China R&D + Overseas Manufacturing” model to boost resilience and global competitiveness. These coordinated moves demonstrate the company’s determination to seize new opportunities in high-tech and international markets.
