August Aniline Market Stabilizes After Fluctuations in China

ECHEMI 2025-08-29

August 28 update

I. Price Trends

According to the commodity market analysis system, the Aniline market in China stabilized with fluctuations in August. The price of Aniline was 7,550 CNY per ton on August 1st and remained at 7,550 CNY per ton on August 28th, showing no change during the period. Compared to the same period last year, the price has fallen by 25.43%.

II. Analysis and Commentary

In the first half of August, the Aniline market in China experienced a fluctuating trend, while it returned to stability in the second half. At the beginning of the month, with low inventory levels among enterprises, major manufacturers collectively increased prices by 300 CNY/ton, raising the mainstream price to 7800-7900 CNY/ton. Subsequently, buying interest from downstream decreased, leading to a reduction in transaction volumes, and Aniline prices were lowered by 100 CNY/ton. As prices rose, downstream buyers became more cautious, resulting in mostly small orders, and manufacturers faced difficulties in moving their stock. The market atmosphere was stagnant, prompting factories to lower prices to stimulate sales. In the latter part of August, with the raw material benzene experiencing an oscillating increase, cost support strengthened, and Aniline quotations remained firm, with the stable market conditions continuing until the end of the month.

Pure benzene: The pure benzene market experienced volatile price increases in August, influenced by both supply-demand dynamics and broader macroeconomic factors. At the beginning of the month, the average price stood at 6,075 CNY per ton, while by the end of the month, it had risen to 6,154 CNY per ton—a monthly price increase of 1.28%.

3. Future Market Expectations

The current aniline market in China is experiencing increased cost pressure, with downstream sectors entering the market based on demand. Aniline companies are facing difficulties in moving their products, and it is expected that the aniline market will consolidate in the short term.
