This Week's Activated Carbon Prices Remain Stable (11.3-11.7) in China
November 7th, according to reports
According to the commodity market analysis system monitoring: At the beginning of the week, the price of activated carbon in China was 12,600 CNY/ton, and by the end of the week, the price of activated carbon in China was 12,633 CNY/ton, with a price increase of 0.26%.
Chinese coconut shell activated carbon prices from manufacturers have risen this week. The factory price of coconut shell activated carbon for water purification in East China ranges between 9,500 and 13,000 CNY per ton. The strong demand for coconut shell activated carbon in water treatment, air purification, and sodium-ion batteries supports the price increase. Additionally, the high transportation requirements for coconut shell char, along with packaging, insurance, and port operation costs, support the high prices of activated carbon.
Wood-based and bamboo-based activated carbon prices have shown relatively little fluctuation, as physical-method wood and bamboo carbons benefit from cost support, leading factories to maintain stable pricing. Meanwhile, major coconut-producing countries in Southeast Asia are experiencing raw material shortages due to natural disasters and policy adjustments. Although some nations have plans to expand production, the tight supply situation is unlikely to ease in the short term, meaning prices will likely remain elevated.
Prediction: A shortage of coconut shell activated carbon raw materials in China is expected to lead to high and volatile prices for activated carbon in the short term.
