ECHEMI 2026-07-01

June 30 news

I. Price Trends

According to the commodity market analysis system, as of June 30, the reference average price for small and medium-sized urea in China was 1,813 CNY per ton, which is a 0.55% increase from the reference average price of 1,803 CNY per ton on June 1.

II. Market Analysis

Supply and Demand Situation

This month, the urea market prices in China fluctuated. In the first half of the month, influenced by the increase in the third-quarter export guidance price, the urea market was boosted, and the trading atmosphere improved, leading to an increase in urea prices. In the latter part of the month, urea prices continued to fall. The positive impact of the export quota weakened, with supply exceeding demand, coupled with poor futures market performance, which led to a continuous decline in the spot market for urea. This month, the operating rates of urea enterprises were high, with many pending orders, ensuring ample supply in the spot market. The downstream compound fertilizer market remained stable, with mainly rigid demand procurement for urea.

Market Conditions

As of June 30, urea market prices in Shandong were around 1760-1810 CNY/ton, in Hebei around 1780-1820 CNY/ton, in Henan around 1750-1800 CNY/ton, and in Liaoning around 1850-1880 CNY/ton.

According to the weekly K-line chart from March 30, 2026, to June 22, 2026, China's urea prices showed alternating rises and falls during the period. In June, China's urea prices increased significantly, with the largest price increase occurring in the week of June 15, at 2.29%.

III. Future Market Forecast

Urea analysts believe: Recently, the urea market has been making minor adjustments. Currently, the market supply is sufficient, and demand has not yet been fully released, with downstream purchases mainly based on need. It is expected that in the short term, urea prices in China will remain stable and consolidate.
