Recently, according to China National Standard Announcement No. 11 of 2021, the national standard GB/T 5211.14-2021 "General Test Methods for Pigments and Extender Pigments Part 14: Determination of Sieve Residues Mechanical Flushing Method" has been approved for publication and will be published in 2022. It was formally implemented on March 1, 2012, and Huayuan Pigment participated in the revision of this standard.
As an important indicator in the inspection process of iron oxide pigments, the determination of the residue on the sieve is an indispensable link. The content of the sieve residue in the pigment directly affects the performance of the pigment. The amount of the sieve residue reflects the degree of dispersion of the pigment, the degree of pulverization, and the content of impurities from the side. Therefore, controlling the content of the sieve residue of the iron oxide pigment can effectively improve the pigment’s performance. Application performance. At present, iron oxide pigments control the sieve residue mainly by the control of the liquid material during the sieving process of the wet material, such as the number of screen meshes, the quality of the screen, etc. In addition, the control of the dry material crushing process, such as the selection of suitable crushing equipment , Selection of appropriate crushing principle can reduce the content of sieve residue in the finished product. At present, the main methods for the determination of sieve residue in the industry are manual sieve residue determination and mechanical washing method.
The revision of this standard follows the principle of advanced technology and international standards, with the goal of "scientificity, practicability, uniformity, and standardization". The revised national standard guides the manufacturers, users and testing institutions in the pigment and extender pigment industry in my country. Unifying the quality control standards of the sieve residue project can better serve the improvement of the industry's manufacturing level.
