The Chinese rutile titanium dioxide market went down this week. The downstream demand was getting weak and some rutile titanium dioxide producers suffered sales pressure. Downstream users purchased goods based on a need-to basis. Most producers offered goods to their old customers and it was heard that the prices were in the range of RMB 16,500-17,000/mt. New orders were traded at the range of RMB 17,800-18,800/mt. Dealing prices were negotiable.

The Chinese anatase titanium dioxide market slid this week. Producers’ sales pressure aggravated and ex-works prices inched down. Mainstream prices for anatase titanium dioxide were in the range of RMB 15,800-16,500/mt.
Forecast
The overall operating rate continue to decline and some producers also suffer sales pressure. However, some large-sized producers hold low inventories. Thus the Chinese titanium dioxide market will be largely stable next week.
