According to Ma Yongsheng, hydrogen energy has the advantages of diverse sources, zero discharge of terminals, and a wide range of uses. According to the International Hydrogen Council's forecast, by 2050, hydrogen energy will meet 18% of the world's end-use energy needs and reduce CO2 emissions by 6 billion tons. At present, my country has made some progress in technologies such as the purification of by-product hydrogen, but the construction of infrastructure is lagging behind, and the scale of hydrogen supply and the total amount of fuel cell vehicles are still small. The long-term development of my country's hydrogen energy industry still faces some problems. First, there is a lack of overall coordination and top-level design at the national level, and there are signs of similar industries and low-level redundant construction. Second, there is a risk of "stuck neck" in core technologies such as liquid hydrogen storage, high-end materials, and equipment manufacturing. Third, the hydrogen energy management system has not yet been established, and industry standards and technical routes need to be further explored and studied. Fourth, the current cost of "green hydrogen" (hydrogen production from non-fossil energy sources such as wind, solar, and nuclear power) is high, and economic utilization is difficult.

One is to strengthen the top-level design of the hydrogen energy industry. Adhere to the principle of green hydrogen, focus on hydrogen energy transportation and green hydrogen chemical industry, and increase the layout of infrastructure such as high-purity hydrogen production, hydrogen refueling stations, hydrogen storage and transportation facilities, and hydrogen fuel cells in advance.

The second is to strengthen research on key core technologies. Focusing on the joint research of production, education and research in the entire hydrogen energy industry chain, explore and promote the technological improvement and breakthrough of the entire industry chain from production, storage and transportation to application of hydrogen energy, and catch up with the international advanced level as soon as possible.

The third is to strengthen the formulation of the standard system. The management of the entire hydrogen energy industry chain involves 11 national ministries and commissions, and needs to be promoted as a whole to establish a complete and advanced hydrogen energy standard for the entire industry chain.
