Master Kong Selected As One Of The Outstanding Csr Cases In 2021
Recently, at the 2021 China CSR Cloud Summit, Master Kong Holdings, a national brand enterprise, was selected as the "Outstanding Case of Social Responsibility" among many corporate cases for its outstanding performance in promoting green development, helping revitalize the countryside and digitally responding quickly to emergency relief.
With the theme of "Love Lights Up Hope, Action Writes Responsibility", this year's Cloud Summit aims to promote the entrepreneurial spirit of the new era, lead enterprises to actively practice social responsibility and promote the high-quality development of China's economy.
Mr. Chen Yingzhan, CEO of Master Kong, said that as a national brand enterprise, being selected as one of China's outstanding CSR cases is an honour and a responsibility. Master Kong will continue to uphold the mission of "promoting Chinese food culture" and the corporate motto of "sustainable management and giving back to society", and make positive contributions to economic development and people's happiness through practical actions.
Innovation for the benefit of farmers, helping to revitalise the countryside
As a leading enterprise in deep processing of agricultural products, Master Kong has explored numerous initiatives to help revitalise the countryside.
On the one hand, Master Kong directly drives more than 40 million farmers to increase their income through the procurement of millions of tons of agricultural products every year, and increases the procurement of agricultural products while meeting consumers' demand for nutrition and health, so that farmers' "money bags" can be enlarged;
On the other hand, Master Kong also keeps exploring new models to benefit the three farmers: upgrading to build On the other hand, Master Kong has also continued to explore new models to benefit the three farmers: upgrading the "enterprise + base + farmers" industrial chain model, launching the Inner Mongolia Kangbanor International Agricultural Industrial Park project, promoting the upgrading of agricultural technology through coaching farmers on planting, strictly controlling the quality and testing supervision at the origin end, boosting the local economy, and successfully driving the employment of nearly 10,000 local farmers.
Technological innovation to promote energy saving and emission reduction Green development to ensure the home is always green
In line with the new development concept put forward by the State, Master Kong has upgraded its sustainable development concept to "Evergreen Home, Health is Bliss" and has adopted the "3699" path recommended by the "Carbon Neutral Pathway Map for Enterprises", the world's first report issued by a UN agency to provide comprehensive guidance for enterprises to achieve carbon neutrality.
The "3699" pathway is a three-step roadmap that defines the carbon neutral strategy of enterprises: "Conduct a carbon baseline inventory", "Set reduction targets" and "Design reduction initiatives". A three-step roadmap.

In 2021, Master Kong launched a comprehensive carbon inventory for the Group, and has now completed the first phase of data verification, laying the foundation for further scientific carbon reduction. At the same time, Master Kong has also extended the carbon inventory to the upstream and downstream of the industry chain, hoping to become a benchmark and a model for carbon reduction in the industry.
Against the backdrop of the normalisation of the epidemic, Master Kong has taken the lead in understanding the trend of rising consumer health awareness and innovated and developed new products such as sugar-free tea to meet the new demand for upgrading public consumption, satisfy consumers' pursuit of nutritious and healthy diets, serve to create a better life with "joyful eating", and contribute to the construction of a healthy China.
According to estimates, for every 1 million bottles of 500ml sugar-free iced tea produced, the carbon emissions from sugar use can be reduced by about 29 tonnes compared to traditional sugar-containing iced tea, which is equivalent to the amount absorbed by 1,300 trees in a year.
In recent years, Master Kong has effectively promoted greener, low-carbon sustainable development through technological innovation and digital transformation, and driven upstream and downstream partners to achieve a win-win situation. 2020 saw a 22% reduction in greenhouse gases per 10,000 cases of Master Kong products compared to 2017. The waste heat recovery device developed by Master Kong for instant noodle steamers can reduce CO2 emissions due to energy consumption by 173,000 tonnes per year.
The Guangzhou, Xi'an and Suzhou plants of Master Kong's beverage business use photovoltaic power generation to generate 12.72 million kWh of electricity annually, reducing greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to the carbon absorption of approximately 340,000 large trees in a year. The Zhengzhou plant of PepsiCo's beverage business has adopted steam condensate recycling, water reuse and a number of other water conservation measures, saving more than 100,000 tonnes of water annually.
