Radiation curing technology is very suitable for manufacturers of furniture and electronics, and the epidemic provides ample opportunities to develop its potential. They are all interested in automation to reduce reliance on labor while improving operational efficiency, quality and cost-effectiveness. They need to remain competitive, and the Covid-19 pandemic has made many operations unpredictable. The need to maintain operations, reduce the impact of labor, improve efficiency and quality, and be more cost-effective is the driving force behind the switch to considering the use of radiation-curable coatings.

 

On the other hand, the "14th Five-Year Plan for China's Coatings Industry" proposes that the scale of China's coatings industry will continue to expand during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period. By 2025, the total output of the coatings industry will increase from 24.591 million tons in 2020. To about 30 million tons, environment-friendly paint varieties will also account for 70% of the total paint output. Therefore, under the background that the scale of the industry continues to expand, and green and high-quality development has become the consensus of the industry, the realization of source substitution and the use of low-VOC environment-friendly paint products have become the only way for the future development of the paint and coating industry. Restrict the use of traditional high-VOC solvent-based coatings, eliminate coating products that do not meet the mandatory national standards, and increase the proportion of low-VOC coating products such as high-solid coatings, water-based coatings, powder coatings, and radiation-curing coatings. The requirements of the "14th Five-Year Plan for Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction Comprehensive Work Plan" are consistent, and it is an inherent requirement for the upgrading and transformation of the coatings industry to achieve high-quality development.

 

With the development of new oligomer structures, reactive diluents and initiators, the future application scope of radiation-cured products is immeasurable, and the market development space is unlimited.
