May Starts! Chemical Giants Raise Prices Sharply
Recently, under the circumstance that logistics is blocked, many places are closed and controlled, and the start of construction is limited, domestic chemical companies are generally "flattened", but the foreign market is extremely hot, and the price of chemical raw materials continues to skyrocket.
It is understood that since the second quarter, many chemical companies such as BASF, Mitsui Chemicals, SK Chemicals, Exxon Mobil and other chemical companies have sent letters to announce the increase.
▶Ishihara, Japan: As the prices of raw materials such as titanium ore and coal continue to rise, the price of titanium dioxide has been raised by 60 yen/kg (about US$500/ton) since June 1.
▶BYK: Starting from June 1, all products of the company have been raised to varying degrees worldwide, with an average price increase of 25%.
▶Sekisui Chemicals: Since May 23, the company's PVC pipes, PE pipes and other products have announced price increases of up to 20%.
▶Mitsui Chemicals: Starting from May 2, the price of toluene diisocyanate (TDI), a raw material for polyurethane, has been raised by 120 yen/kg (about 6,060 CNY/ton).
▶DIC: Since May 10, the prices of various plasticizers have been raised, with a maximum increase of 4,420 CNY/ton.
▶Kuraray: From May 1st, the prices of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) fibers vinylon and <claren K-II> will be raised globally by up to 20%.
▶ExxonMobil: From May 1st, the sales price of high-performance polymers (POE) in the Asia-Pacific region will be increased by $100/ton (about 641 CNY/ton).
▶BASF: Starting from May 1st, the prices of dispersions and resins will be increased, emulsions will be increased by $0.05/lb (about 706 CNY/ton), polyols will be increased by $0.12/lb (1,695 CNY/ton), and solid resins will be increased by $0.07 / pound (989 CNY/ton), resin solution increased by 0.03 US dollars / pound (424 CNY/ton).
▶SK Chemicals: From May, the price of PCTG Korea SK JN200/JN200K products will be increased by 120 won/kg (about 622 CNY/ton).
▶Mitsui Dow: From May 1st, the prices of 6 kinds of EVA resin products will be raised by more than 20 yen/kg (about 1010 CNY/ton).
Whether it is an energy crisis such as high crude oil and natural gas shortage, or high raw material costs and increased logistics costs, chemical companies have brought a greater risk crisis. Judging from the current development of the international market, the chemical market at home and abroad can be described as a double world.
Industry insiders said that in the future, the shortage and high-level operation of overseas chemical industry leaders will be passed on to the domestic chemical market, which will eventually form a domino effect.
