Xuchang: Promoting Organic Fertilizer to Promote Green Agriculture

On August 23, Xuchang held a regular meeting on Zero-growth action of chemical fertilizers and pesticides, summarized the development of Zero-growth action of chemical fertilizers and pesticides in recent years, introduced the popularization and application of organic fertilizers, set up a platform for cooperation and exchange between organic fertilizer production enterprises and agricultural production bases, and vigorously promoted organic fertilizer substitution in the whole city. Fertilizer will further promote the development of green agriculture in Xuchang.
It is known that Xuchang will vigorously promote the application of organic fertilizers by optimizing the fertilization structure, improving traditional fertilization methods and promoting the application of organic fertilizers. By 2020, the utilization rate of chemical fertilizers for major crops will be increased to 36%, the coverage rate of fertilization technology by soil testing formula will be over 93%, and the rate of returning nutrients of livestock and poultry manure to the field will reach 60%. The returning rate of straw nutrients reached 70%, and mechanical fertilization accounted for more than 70% of the main crop planting area. In the Zero-growth action of pesticides, by popularizing scientific drug use, promoting the rule of specialized integrated control, and developing demonstration and promotion of green control technology, the coverage rate of specialized integrated control of pests and diseases in major crops will be over 42%, the coverage rate of green control will be over 35%, and the utilization rate of pesticides in the whole city will be over 40% by 2020.
"At present, the way to increase agricultural production mainly depends on the application of chemical fertilizers and pesticides, resulting in increased cost of agricultural inputs, decreased comparative benefits of agricultural production, and continued to aggravate non-point source pollution." Zhang Dexue, Director of Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Areas, said that next step, we will actively change the mode of agricultural production, accelerate the recycling and utilization of crop straw and livestock and poultry feeding wastes, turn waste into treasure, strengthen the docking between agriculture and enterprises, vigorously promote organic fertilizer instead of chemical fertilizer, reduce the amount of chemical fertilizer and pesticide application, and come out of a green and efficient agriculture. Development path.
