The original research price of 3.5 billion pound varieties dropped by 74%

Medicines Network Sept. 5 - Sept. 4, the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Drug and Instrument Centralized Purchasing Service Center issued the Notice on Reducing the Price of Some Drugs Purchased (the 14th batch), adjusting 12 drugs, such as Capecitabine Tablets of Roche Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. and Pegylated Recombinant Human Granulocyte Stimulator Injection of Qilu Pharmaceut Price. Among them, Roche Capecitabine tablets (specification 0.5g) were directly reduced from 350.4 yuan to 92.4 yuan, a drop of 73.6%, approaching the prices of Hengrui Pharmaceutical, Qilu Pharmaceutical and Zhengda Tianqing generic drugs in Heilongjiang, Guangxi and Shanxi provinces. 

The indications are combination of docetaxel for metastatic breast cancer including anthracycline antibiotic chemotherapy failure, single-drug first-line treatment for metastatic colorectal cancer, inoperable advanced or metastatic gastric cancer. X-ray therapy and the new combination of Oxaliplatin (XELOX regimen) in June this year were used for adjuvant chemotherapy in patients with stage II and III gastric cancer after radical resection. Capecitabine tablets of Roche, a former research company, were approved to enter China in 2001, and the market share of Qilu Pharmaceutical Co., Hengrui Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. and Zhengda Tianqing Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. began to decline after the approval of Qilu Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., Hengrui Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. and Zhengda Tianqing Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. in 2013. According to Minet data, the domestic market of capecitabine reached 3.539 billion yuan in 2018. Affected by the domestic anti-cancer drug price reduction tide, Hengrui Pharmaceutical Co., Qilu Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. and Zhengda Tianqing Co., Ltd. have voluntarily applied to lower the price of capecitabine tablets in the first half of this year. Most of the published prices have dropped to 90-100 yuan. In contrast, as an original pharmaceutical company, Roche's price adjustment in the first half of the year was not significant: in February in Shaanxi Province, the capecitabine network price limit was adjusted from 368.69 yuan/box to 348.4 yuan/box, and in May in Heilongjiang Province from 368.78 yuan to 330 yuan, the same price as that in Sichuan Province.

Market participants pointed out that compared with the rapid growth of the share of generic drugs of other anti-cancer drugs, capecitabine still dominates the original research, which may be the reason why Roche capecitabine only adopted fine-tuning in the previous wave of sharp price reduction. Data show that Capecitabine still dominates Roche's market share by 71% in 2018, followed by Hengrui Pharmaceutical (14%) and Qilu Pharmaceutical (10%).

Therefore, after Shaanxi announced Qilu Pharmaceutical's application on September 3 to adjust the capecitabine tablet price limit from 180 yuan to 92 yuan, the next day Inner Mongolia notice showed that Roche lowered the price to 92.4 yuan, which is worth a product. Industry insiders in consistency evaluation accelerated competition pointed out that the policy of purchasing with quantity and consistency evaluation of generic drugs reflected the firm determination of the government to reduce prices and control fees, and the trend of drug price reduction was irreversible. Multinational pharmaceutical companies in China have to face up to the choice of quantity and price. Pemetrexed disodium for injection is also one of the typical examples in the 14th batch of downgraded drug purchase price catalogue in Inner Mongolia. According to Minet data, in 2018, the sales of Pemetrexed in public medical institutions in China were 5.382 billion yuan, of which Hawson Pharmaceutical led by 43.11% of the market share, Qilu Pharmaceutical ranked second with 26.95% of the market share, and Lilai Pharmaceutical Company's market share declined to 12.09%.

With Huiyu Pharmaceutical injection pemetrexed disodium as the first injectable through consistent evaluation in China, 810 yuan/branch (0.1g) and 2776.97 yuan/branch (0.5g) won the BID in the "4+7" collection, and the related enterprise products followed the price reduction. Qilu Pharmaceutical took the initiative to reduce its price in Liaoning Province in January. The price of Pemetrexed disodium for injection (0.1g) has dropped to 554.52 yuan per unit. The original pharmaceutical company Lilai recently adjusted the winning price of Pemetrexed disodium for injection (specification: 0.5g, 0.1g) to 7315.00 yuan per box and 2142.00 yuan per box. During the price adjustment in Inner Mongolia, Hawson also lowered the price of Pemetrexed disodium for injection (0.2g) from 1872.43 yuan to 1343 yuan, which was second only to capecitabine. However, as a non-289 catalogue product, capecitabine tablets are also evaluated by many enterprises in China. Among them, Qilu Pharmaceutical and Hengrui Pharmaceutical Conformity Evaluation Supplementary Application is under examination and approval, Zhengda Tianqing is conducting BE test recruitment; Chengdu Yuandong Biopharmaceutical, which declares generic drugs, has entered the stage of examination and approval, and Nanjing Youke Pharmaceutical BE test has been completed.
