China's current account surplus was 598.4 billion yuan in the first half of 2019, and its capital and financial account surplus was 291.2 billion yuan, equivalent to US$82.2 billion and US$43 billion, respectively, according to data released by the State Administration of Foreign Exchange on the 27th.

According to the China balance of payments report issued in the first half of 2019 according to the same period issued by the State Administration of foreign exchange, China's balance of payments has basically maintained balance in the first half of 2019. The current account balance continued to be within a reasonable range, with a surplus of US $88.2 billion in the first half, or 1.3% of GDP. Among them, the surplus in goods trade increased year by year, the deficit in service trade narrowed, and the investment income changed from deficit to small surplus. The non-reserve financial account surplus in the first half of the year was $45.4 billion, according to the report. Among them, the balance of direct investment remains stable, which is still an important source of surplus; the continued surplus of securities investment reflects the opening effect of the securities market and the international attractiveness of RMB assets; and other investment deficits are reduced. In the first half of the year, the reserve assets formed by China's transactions increased slightly and remained stable, reflecting the results of the basic balance of payments. At the end of June 2019, China's foreign financial assets and liabilities increased by 1.6% and 4.3% respectively compared with the end of 2018, and its net external assets increased by $2.03 trillion.
