Merck Germany Enhances Pigment Production

Merck invested 28 million euros to build a new paint factory in Germany, aiming to optimize the production process and enhance the production capacity of pigments. The investment is part of Merck's many capacity enhancement projects. Merck's silicon pigments series applied in automotive coatings and colorful cosmetics conform to the current market development trend and are very popular. Because these pigments have unique angular heterochromic effect, they bring more design space for coatings and cosmetics formulations. The commissioning of the new plant will significantly increase the production capacity and supply capacity of silicon products. According to the plan, the new plant will be put into operation in the second half of 2021. Surface Solution Business is a branch of Merck's high performance materials business.
