South African Minister of mineral resources mantasher pledged
According to the independent media website of South Africa on October 9, Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy Mantashe assured coal producers that the government would meet their requirements while providing cost-effective clean energy supply through the Integrated Resources Programme (IRP). Mantashe said that the updated IRP would be released soon, emphasizing South Africa's continued commitment to investing in renewable energy as part of the energy structure that will connect 20 million kilowatts of renewable energy to the grid by 2030. According to Mantashe, South Africa's energy policy is based on a mixture of coal and wind energy. Coal, imported hydropower, nuclear, wind, solar, biomass, energy storage and energy efficiency are all technology choices that weigh their advantages. The debate between renewable energy and coal and nuclear energy must be eliminated, and rich coal resources should be exploited through technological innovation.
