Vigorous Development of Agriculture with Plateau Characteristics

Xiangyun County of Dali Prefecture is one of the pilot demonstration counties in Yunnan Province for the construction of Plateau Characteristic agriculture, and also one of the pilot demonstration counties for the integration and development of primary, secondary and tertiary industries. With this opportunity, Xiangyun County, combined with its own advantages, continuously optimizes the combination of "add and subtract" and shows a vigorous development trend of Plateau Characteristic agriculture.
On the premise of ensuring that the sown area of grain is stable at 495,000 Mu and the total grain output is steadily increasing, the traditional sown area is continuously reduced, and the rice area is reduced from 91,000 mu in 2005 to 69,000 mu in 2018, a decrease of 24%. At the same time, according to the idea of "county has multiple industries, one township, two special features, one village and one product", we constantly adjust and optimize the structure of agricultural industry, let agricultural products return to the market, and cultivate a variety of characteristic industries such as fruits and vegetables, sericulture, livestock and poultry, wild edible fungi and so on.
In 2018, a total of 225,900 mu of vegetables were planted and 398,800 tons of fresh vegetables were produced, thus realizing a total industrial output value of 3.05 billion yuan. Fruit base reached 743.2 million mu, with a total output value of more than 504 million yuan; mulberry garden area reached 1027 million mu, with the annual sales revenue of fresh silkworm cocoons amounted to 310 million yuan; animal husbandry output value reached 2.49 billion yuan; more than 40 varieties of wild edible fungi were developed and utilized, with an output value of 110 million yuan and an export earning foreign exchange of 70 million dollars, making it the largest base for processing and exporting wild fungi in the country, as well as the export earning foreign exchange by the northward transportation of national southern vegetables.
"Adjust the structure, promote transformation, comprehensively improve the quality and efficiency of development." Zhang Qi, director of the county's agricultural industrialization office, introduced that the county has fully implemented the policy of "developing modern agriculture, improving agricultural quality, efficiency and overall quality", further optimized the structure of agricultural industry, expanded and strengthened Plateau Characteristic agriculture, actively transformed and upgraded traditional industries, vigorously developed new industries, and continuously nurtured and developed new momentum.
The county relies on leading agricultural enterprises and takes rural land circulation as a breakthrough point to create a characteristic industrial base of 129,500 mu, with a scale operation proportion of 34%. The effective irrigation area of farmland has increased from 20% at the end of the 11th Five-Year Plan to 63%. The total power of agricultural machinery has reached 2157,425,575 kilowatt, and the total operating area of agricultural machinery has reached 10735,000 mu, the level of comprehensive machinery has reached 54.9%, and the characteristic industrial base. It has realized the transformation of "from scratch to growth, from small to large". At the same time, the county has realized a historic transformation from planned economy to market economy, from traditional agriculture to modern agriculture with plateau characteristics, and the peasants'production and life styles have undergone tremendous changes. In 2018, the total output value of agricultural products processing reached 2.88 billion yuan, and the county nurtured 43 leading agricultural enterprises above the state level, 1013 farmers'professional cooperatives and 73 family farms.
