November 16-17, 2019, the 2019 China Coatings Industry Summit themed with "connectivity upgrading enabling digital sharp change" was held in Shanghai Boya Hotel. The summit is based on the efficient connection between the upstream and downstream industries, actively promoting the development of China's coating industry, carrying out transformation and upgrading and technological innovation from new material R & D, intelligent procurement, digital production, cloud warehouse logistics, precision marketing, talent social networking and other aspects, so as to promote the coating industry to achieve efficient operation under the new industrial pattern by connecting all industries, internal and external connections, Using digital technology, improve the efficiency of coating industry, enable the upstream and downstream of China's coating industry to carry out industrial transformation and upgrading and industrial ecological construction, and realize the sharp change of industrial digital! Enabling is one of the main themes of the summit.

For this reason, Yu Jianfeng, chief engineer of Shanghai Huayi Fine Chemical Co., Ltd., Dr. Kong Xia, director of innovation technology center of Guangdong badshi Chemical Co., Ltd., Liu Feng, deputy general manager of technology center of Zhuhai zhanchen New Material Co., Ltd., Ao Feilong, technical director of paint and ink business department of Eastman (China) Investment Management Co., Ltd., and bud, Shunde District, Foshan City were invited to the summit Zheng Gongshao, the chief engineer of emulsion industry application technology of Fu Industrial Co., Ltd., assisted by the industry technology big coffee company, and at the scene of the paint industry chain forum empowerment innovator, interpreted the development and change of the industry from the technical level, and predicted the future direction of the coating market. Jiang Jiaju, director of Huizheng information operation, served as the moderator of this forum. What are the obvious changes in the market demand of water-based coatings in the future from the technical perspective? In terms of technology, which other environmentally friendly coatings have more potential? In response to this issue, the guests expressed their views from several aspects. Yu Jianfeng, chief engineer of Shanghai Huayi Fine Chemical Co., Ltd., said that the direction of technology research and development is determined by many factors, including demand side, technology development, user construction requirements, and even the corresponding requirements for the form of coating. As early as 2000, China began to say that all coatings should be converted into water-based coatings, but now, from the demand side, the proportion of automotive and other industrial products to achieve water-based coating is still relatively small. If it can not achieve water-based, there are other forms of environmental protection, such as powder coating. In his opinion, water-based is not a complete concept, and the place where water-based can be realized can still be realized. The enterprise can also be used as solvent while realizing water-based, because in many industrial applications, if solvent-based coating is not used, the effect cannot be achieved. Therefore, hydration is one direction, but not the only one.

Dr. Kong Xia, director of innovation technology center of Guangdong badshi Chemical Co., Ltd., has similar opinions with Yu Jianfeng. She pointed out: "we can have various choices, but in the current situation, water-based must be the choice of badshi company. At present, the proportion of waterborne furniture paint in the whole market is about 10%. We predict that it will reach 15% in the next few years, possibly 30%, which is a great development direction. At the same time, the application of waterborne paint in steel structures, construction machinery, containers and other fields will have a great growth. " At present, Vietnam's market is growing very fast, while India's is growing faster. Many of our domestic manufacturers are building factories in Southeast Asia, and their water paints are mainstream in the market, "said Liu Feng, deputy general manager of technical center of Zhuhai zhanchen new materials Co., Ltd. Ao Feilong, technical director of coating ink business department of Eastman (China) Investment Management Co., Ltd., said that the iteration of technology update cannot be separated from driving force and pulling force. The government takes sustainable development as the basic point, and the environmental protection policy is the driving force. The driving force lies in the development of basic technology from inside to outside. From the perspective of raw material suppliers, how to promote the development of water-based technology is a key. Generally speaking, different R & D technology directions such as water-based and powder have their own advantages. In the future, there will not be a state in which a certain technology will take the lead.

Zheng Gongshao, chief engineer of emulsion technology in Shunde District, Foshan, believes that although waterborne is a developing direction, part of the performance of waterborne coatings is not recognized, and it can achieve better water quality, and the solvent type still needs to maintain for a period of time. In terms of performance, China's regulations in the field of containers must be all water-based. Some people in the industry are really considering environmental protection, but this year, there have been some problems in the application of water-based containers. In general, "to determine the performance of coatings, we should try to be water-based and environmentally friendly. If we can't achieve it for the time being, we should be practical and realistic." When the theory and practice are not in line with the actual needs, how can enterprises do a good job of matching technology and market? Does solvent based coating have the potential of technical improvement? Yu Jianfeng pointed out that in the case of theoretical and practical failure, we should find a path suitable for product development. From the perspective of R & D, it may not meet the needs of customers. Enterprise R & D should be determined according to the needs of users. R & D must follow the needs of customers. Meanwhile, products should be updated and iterated to meet the comprehensive emission standards.
