CPI rose 2.9% year on year in 2019

In December 2019, the national consumer price rose 4.5% year on year. In 2019, the national consumer price rose by 2.9% over the previous year. In December, the price of pork rose by 97.0%, affecting CPI to rise by about 2.34%. In December 2019, the national consumer price rose 4.5% year on year. Among them, 4.2% in urban areas, 5.3% in rural areas, 17.4% in food prices, 1.3% in non food prices, 6.4% in consumer goods prices and 1.2% in service prices. In December, national consumer prices were flat on a month on month basis. Among them, urban prices were flat, rural prices were down 0.1%; food prices were down 0.4%, non food prices were up 0.1%; consumer goods and services prices were flat. In 2019, the national consumer price rose by 2.9% over the previous year.

 

Changes in prices of various goods and services on a year-on-year basis. In December, prices of food, tobacco and alcohol rose 12.9% on a year-on-year basis, affecting CPI (consumer price index) to rise by about 3.82%. In food, the price of livestock meat increased by 66.4%, affecting CPI by about 2.94%, of which the price of pork increased by 97.0%, affecting CPI by about 2.34%; the price of fresh vegetables increased by 10.8%, affecting CPI by about 0.26%; the price of eggs increased by 6.2%, affecting CPI by about 0.04%; the price of aquatic products increased by 1.3%, affecting CPI by about 0.02%; and the price of food increased by 0 6%, affecting CPI increase by about 0.01%; fresh fruit price decrease by 8.0%, affecting CPI decrease by about 0.15%. The prices of the other seven categories rose and fell on a year-on-year basis. Among them, the prices of other goods and services, health care, education, culture and entertainment increased by 4.4%, 2.1% and 1.8% respectively, the prices of clothing, housing, household goods and services increased by 0.8%, 0.5% and 0.4% respectively, and the prices of transportation and communication decreased by 0.7%.

 

Changes in prices of various goods and services on a month on month basis in December, the price of food, tobacco and alcohol dropped 0.2% on a month on month basis, affecting CPI by about 0.05 percentage points. In food, egg price decreased by 4.7%, affecting CPI by about 0.03%; animal meat price decreased by 3.8%, affecting CPI by about 0.28%, of which pork price decreased by 5.6%, affecting CPI by about 0.27%; fresh vegetable price increased by 10.6%, affecting CPI by about 0.25%; fresh fruit price increased by 0.6%, affecting CPI by about 0.01%. Other seven categories of prices rose, leveled and fell on a month on month basis. Among them, the prices of transportation, communication and health care rose by 0.2%, the prices of residential and household goods and services rose by 0.1%; the prices of education, culture and entertainment remained the same; the prices of clothing, other goods and services fell by 0.1%.
