L'Oreal Group officially acquires Clarins' perfume brands Mugler and Azzaro
On March 31, French beauty giant L’ Oréal announced that after approval by the relevant departments, the group has officially acquired the two major perfume brands Mugler and Azzaro under the French beauty group Clarins Group.
Mugler was founded by French designer Thierry Mugler in 1974, and his business mainly includes high fashion and perfume. In 1992, Mugler launched the brand's first female perfume-"Angel" (Angel), won the favor of many female users, and later launched the Alien series of perfumes.
Azzaro was founded in 1967 by French stylist Loris Azzaro. Its business mainly includes high-end ready-to-wear fashion and perfume, with more than 20,000 sales points in 150 countries around the world. Since the launch of its first bottle of fragrance in 1978, its perfume business has been at the forefront of the French perfume list, and its products include Azzaro Pour Homme, Chrome, Wanted, and Wanted Girl.
A senior executive of the ClarinsGroup once revealed that the sales of the two brands Mugler and Azzaro totaled 416 million euros, accounting for 26% of the group's total sales (1.6 billion euros).
Cyril Chapuy, President of the L'Oréal Group's luxury department, said that Mugler and the Azzaro team are very welcome to join, and the group will help these two brands to survive this difficult period together.
