L'Oréal Acquires Professional Hair Care Brand Color Wow
On June 30, L'Oréal Group announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire professional hair care brand Color Wow, hoping to seize the rapid growth opportunities in high-end hair care products. The transaction will be completed subject to customary closing conditions (including standard regulatory approvals). Financial details have not been disclosed.
Founded by Gail Federici in 2013 and headquartered in the United States and the United Kingdom, Color Wow offers a unique range of products that have won a loyal following among stylists, media and consumers. Color Wow offers a range of solutions to address various hair issues, including anti-frizz, thickening and volume. The brand's star products include "XL Bombshell Volumizer" and "Dream Coat".
Color Wow is a well-known brand in the US hair care market and is experiencing rapid growth, thanks in part to its advocacy and highly engaged online community.
The brand remains true to its professional origins and is now omnichannel and is sold in salons, selected distributors and e-commerce platforms.
“We are delighted to welcome Color Wow to the L’Oréal family,” said Omar Hajeri, President of L’Oréal Professional Products. “Color Wow is a premium hair care brand with proven efficacy at an affordable price point that will strengthen our foothold in hair care and styling. We are convinced of the great potential of Color Wow and are committed to building it into a global powerhouse.”
