Titanium Dioxide Market Inched Down This Week (Dec 1-7, 2017)
The Chinese rutile titanium dioxide market inched down this week. The supply was stable, and the downstream producers purchased goods on a need-to basis. Players were cautious about the market. Though prices of raw materials increased, the support to the titanium dioxide market was limited. It was hard for the titanium dioxide market to move up. Up to December 7, the mainstream negotiation prices for rutile titanium dioxide were in the range of RMB 15,500-17,500/mt. Dealing prices were different based on the payment methods. Some goods were traded below RMB 15,500/mt.

The Chinese anatase Titanium Dioxide market moved marginally this week. Downstream demand was stable and thin. Traders suffered high sales pressure. Up to December 7, 2017, mainstream prices for anatase titanium dioxide were in the range of RMB 13,800-15,000/mt by acceptance including VAT. Some lower prices were heard.

Forecast:
The overall operating rate is around 60%. The overall inventory has become tight. But the downstream demand is also weak. It is predicted that the Titanium Dioxide market will move down slightly in the short term.
