Evonik expands production capacity of architectural coatings additives in Europe
Evonik is expanding its production capacity in Europe for TEGO® Phobe hydrophobe and TEGO® Viscoplus polyurethane thickeners. The expansion is due to begin official operations in October.
Nadia Lenhardt, Head of the EMEA Decorative Coatings Market for Evonik's Paint Additives business line, said: "The capacity expansion will meet the growing market demand for architectural paint additives. New capacity in Europe will enhance product supply security in the region and globally."
Hydrophobic agents are primarily used for waterproofing exterior wall coatings. The silicone resin emulsion represented by TEGO® Phobe 1659 can effectively reduce the water absorption of the film. The polysiloxane represented by TEGO® Phobe 1409 can give the coating a decent water bead effect.
The TEGO® Viscoplus product range includes polyurethane thickeners that meet all relevant customer requirements. The products are liquid and contain no organic solvents, and each product has excellent compatibility and is easy to use with one another.
