Bullous keratopathy
The condition in which blisters form in the corneal epithelium is called bullous keratopathy. It was previously called bullous keratitis. In fact, it is not an inflammation, but a degeneration, which is the result of abnormalities in the corneal layer, especially the endothelium, which causes water to be stored in the epithelium.
